PC Wheelchair

The PC Wheelchair is a long-wheelbase electric buggy designed to carry a wheelchair user alongside seated passengers, with a wheelchair space between the front and rear seats under a full-length sun top. It suits hospitals, care homes, retirement villages, resorts, parks, attractions and campuses, giving wheelchair users comfortable, step-free transport around the site. At 1,285 mm wide it moves easily along paths and access roads, and a 5.6 m turning radius keeps it manoeuvrable despite its length. It runs on a 48 V AC drive, with a top speed adjustable between 24 and 35 km/h (15 to 22 mph) to suit the site, a range of up to 80 km (50 miles) and the ability to climb gradients of up to 25%.

Motor and battery options

Two AC motors are available:

• 6 kW rated (8.2 hp), 12.46 kW peak (16.95 hp)
• 10 kW rated (13.6 hp), 22.43 kW peak (30.5 hp)

Two battery packs are available, both giving a range of up to 80 km (50 miles):

• Lead-acid: 8 x 6 V (11.52 kWh), with an onboard charger. Charges to 80% in 7 hours and fully in 9 hours.
• Lithium: 10.8 kWh, with a 3.3 kW onboard charger. Charges to 80% in 4 hours and fully in 6 hours.

Chassis and running gear

• Chassis: automotive-style steel frame with high corrosion resistance, protected by sanding, e-coating, wet paint and PVC coating
• Front suspension: fully independent MacPherson strut
• Rear suspension: rigid axle on leaf springs with dual hydraulic shocks
• Steering: self-compensating, double-reduction helical rack and pinion that needs no lubrication, with electric power steering available as an option
• Brakes: hydraulic drum brakes on all four wheels, with an electromagnetic parking brake

Body and colours

The body is made from tough thermoplastic ABS, coloured through the material rather than just on the surface. It comes in white, midnight blue or black as standard, with a custom colour available on request.
